India-based JSW Energy’s subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Eleven has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 700 MW of solar capacity connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS). The agreement sets a 25-year term with a tariff of Rs 2.56/kWh (~$0.03/kWh), and the project is expected to be commissioned within 24 months. JSW Energy currently operates 7.9 GW of capacity across various energy sources and aims to reach 10 GW by FY 2025. The company also secured 16.2 GWh of energy storage capacity and has set targets for 20 GW of power generation and 40 GWh of energy storage by 2030. Additionally, JSW Energy plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
