UWC seeks bidders for a 4 MW solar and BESS project

The University of the Western Cape (UWC), South Africa, has issued a tender to construct and operate a 4 MW PV System and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) under a Build, Operate, and Transfer model. According to UWC, bidders will be responsible for construction, operation, and eventual transfer. The project requires a 20-year performance commitment, including maintenance, technology upgrades, and optimization for efficiency. Bidders must provide financial statements, anti-collusion declarations, insurance proof, and references. A non-refundable fee of ZAR 150,00 applies. The electronic tender will be available from October 7-11, 2024, with a submission deadline of November 11, 2024. Shortlisted candidates proceed to Phase 2 on November 22, 2024.
