India-based Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) is set to develop the state’s longest solar park along the Bundelkhand Expressway, spanning 1,700 hectares. The solar park, operating under the Build, Own, and Operate (BOO) model, will produce 450 MW of energy, sufficient to meet the needs of around 1 lakh (100,000) consumers. Covering the stretch from Etawah to Chitrakoot, the project is estimated to cost INR 2,500 crore. Additionally, the development includes plans for an industrial corridor and the creation of a new city similar to Noida. Scheduled to be operational by 2028, the project will also involve planting approximately 25,000 trees to support environmental sustainability.
