5B has announced the completion of a 16.9 MW deployment of its prefabricated 5B Maverick solar array technology by Zenith Energy at Northern Star Resources’ Jundee gold mine in Western Australia. This project, part of a larger wind, solar, and battery retrofit, includes 342 5B Maverick units. It aims to provide 56% of the mine’s power needs by integrating 24 MW of wind, 16.9 MWp of solar, and 12 MW / 13.4 MWh of battery storage with the existing gas power station. The project leverages waste rock dumps for solar power generation and benefits from falling module prices.
