Swiss-based BKW has signed a 10-year PPA with global renewable energy firm Zelestra to purchase power from two Italy-based PV plants. The Bellomo plant, located in Sicily, has a capacity of 9.5 MW DC, while the Ginosa plant in Puglia offers a capacity of 6.5 MW DC. Together, these two facilities are expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 11,000 tons annually, with Bellomo contributing 6,500 tons and Ginosa accounting for 4,500 tons. According to Zelestra, this agreement supports its goal of expanding its renewable energy portfolio in Italy to 1.5 GW by 2026. Currently, the company has 31 projects in development across Italy, totaling 0.5 GW in capacity. Zelestra aims to diversify its portfolio by incorporating various technologies and enhancing its BESS capabilities.
