Malaysia-based Yinson Renewables has secured $59 million in green financing from IDB Invest and Natixis CIB for the 97 MW Matarani Solar Plant in Peru. The project, Peru’s first unsubsidized operational solar plant financed under Green Loan Principles, generates 260 GWh annually, enough to power 62,000 households. It operates under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Orygen and achieved full operations in September 2024. Yinson acquired the project from Grenergy Renewables, which provided Turnkey EPC services and initial maintenance. This marks Yinson’s fourth large-scale operational project where it plans to develop 1 GW of capacity within five years.
