Westbridge secures approval for Dolcy Project in Alberta

Dolcy Solar Inc., a subsidiary of Canada-based Westbridge Renewable Energy Corporation has received the requisite approvals from the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) for its Dolcy Solar + Energy Storage Project. Located in the Municipal District of Wainwright, Alberta, Westbridge says this project is the third of its utility-scale solar initiatives to gain such approval. It includes a solar power plant with a capacity of up to 300 MW (AC)and a battery energy storage system (BESS) of 200 MWh, along with a substation permit for the Dolcy 1148S Substation. Once operational, it is expected to supply over 72,000 Alberta homes with clean energy. The company expects to file interconnection approvals in early 2025, moving one step closer to construction.
