WEC Energy Group is set to acquire a 90% stake in the Delilah I Solar Energy Center, a 300 MW project located about 140 miles northeast of Dallas, Texas. Developed and constructed by Invenergy, the project is slated to begin commercial operations by the end of June, with a total investment of $459 million. Delilah I is part of the Samson & Delilah solar portfolio and operates under a long-term power purchase agreement with a global automaker. This acquisition is in line with WEC Energy Group’s strategy, which includes significant investments in solar and wind projects, totaling over 2 GW. Regulatory approvals are pending for the acquisition. WEC Energy Group serves 4.7 million customers across Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and Minnesota.
