India-headquartered solar cell and module manufacturer Websol Energy System Limited has announced plans to begin PV cell production. Commercial operations are set to start in July 2025 at its expanded facility in West Bengal. The project involves the installation of a new production line at the company’s Falta plant, where the capacity was recently doubled to 600 MW with an investment of ₹220 crore (~ $26.4 million). The company stated in a regulatory filing that the new production line is expected to be installed and commissioned during the first quarter of the 2025 – 26 fiscal year. According to the sources equipment purchase orders have been placed, and advance payments for the project have been made. Further updates on the project’s progress are expected as the installation phase continues.
