Verogy, a solar energy developer based in West Hartford, CT, has completed a 139.5 kW rooftop solar energy project at the York Judicial Center in Biddeford, ME. It marks the first solar project completed for the State of Maine Judicial Branch. As per the company, this system comprises 256 solar modules, and will annually produce over 162,000 kWh of clean energy, equivalent to powering 15 average homes for a year. Furthermore, it will offset approximately 109 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. Verogy has secured the project in September 2021 through a competitive RFP process held by the state. The project operates under a 20-year PPA between the Maine Judicial Branch and Verogy, ensuring the state benefits from discounted electricity rates even as costs rise.
