UGE International Ltd., a prominent player in commercial and community solar, has attained the ‘Notice to Proceed’ milestone for its 847 kW rooftop community solar project in Queens, New York. This milestone indicates the completion of financing and obtaining all necessary permits and interconnection approvals. The project, situated atop a 249,675-square-foot warehouse and parking facility in College Point, Queens, developed by Wildflower Ltd LLC, marks UGE’s sixth collaboration with Wildflower. Once operational, it will offset over 1,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually and power more than 200 homes. Notably, 50% of its energy output will be reserved for low– to moderate-income subscribers, offering up to 10% savings on electricity costs. Valued at $2.7 million, the College Point project is now set for deployment and construction, with commercial operation anticipated this summer.
