TrinaTracker’s manufacturing facility in Viana, Spain, recently earned Carbon Footprint certification from Bureau Veritas on World Environment Day. In 2022, the Viana facility achieved a substantial 54.7% reduction in carbon emissions compared to the previous year. This progress was measured according to the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, ensuring accurate reporting of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. By next year, the company aims to halve the greenhouse gas emission intensity of its category 1 and 2 PV products. Additionally, Trinasolar plans to cut its electricity consumption by 1 billion kWh from 2021 to 2030. The Viana plant enhanced sustainability in 2022 by offsetting 22% of its energy consumption through generating 450 kWh of green energy daily, reducing CO2 emissions by 14 tonnes annually. TrinaTracker is also working towards ISO 14064 certification for standardized greenhouse gas emissions reporting.
