Trinasolar, a China-based company, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Canada-based Canadian Solar in the US, aiming to protect its intellectual property in advanced solar technology. The legal action was initiated with the US District Court of Delaware and includes a complaint filed with the US International Trade Commission (ITC). According to Trinasolar, the ITC complaint requests a limited exclusion order to prevent certain Canadian Solar products from entering the US, asserting they infringe Trina’s TOPCon technology patents. Additionally, Trinasolar seeks a cease-and-desist order to halt the sale of Canadian Solar’s allegedly infringing products already in the country. This lawsuit is part of a series of recent patent actions filed by Trina to protect its intellectual property rights.
