TÜV Rheinland grants Trinasolar top certifications

China-based Trina Solar’s Yancheng factory in Jiangsu province has achieved both zero-waste landfill and zero-carbon factory certifications from TÜV Rheinland, setting a new industry benchmark. The company claims it is the first in the PV industry to secure these certifications. The factory has implemented waste reduction initiatives, cutting over 45 tons of waste, reusing 300 tons, and recycling more than 15,000 tons. According to Trina Solar, carbon emissions per unit of production dropped by 15.17% compared to 2022. TÜV Rheinland evaluated its waste management system, awarding the factory a three-star certification for achieving a 99.58% waste diversion rate. Trina Solar aims for carbon neutrality across its global operations by 2030.
