Under the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) plans to construct 2.5 GW hybrid hydro floating solar (HHFS) project in Malaysia. It has initiateda 30 MW project at the Chenderoh Hydro-reservoir, after which it plans to extend this initiative tothe Temenggor and Kenyir Hydro-reservoirs. The project is motivated by its previousStesenJanakuasa Sultan Azlan Shah (SJSAS) project. Since 2019, the floating solar project at SJSAS has generated a 600 MWh of energy. Using 288 solar panels with 105.12 kW capacity, this initiative has reduced 390 tons of CO2 emissions in just 4 years.
