Indonesia-based facility strengthens Thornova’s US PV supply chain

Thornova Solar, a US-based solar PV company, has launched production of solar cells and modules at its 2.5 GW capacity facility in Batam, Indonesia. The move aligns with evolving US market regulations and focuses on supplying high-performance products to North America. The facility features advanced automation, including 5G-AGV transport systems, boosting efficiency. Modules range from 400 W for residential use to 720 W for utility projects, utilizing PERC and n-type technologies. Thornova plans to expand manufacturing to the US and Laos by mid-2025, ensuring a diversified supply chain. By early 2026, it aims to deliver modules entirely produced in the US, meeting domestic content requirements.
