SouthAfrica-based Teraco, a Digital Realty company, has begun construction on a 120 MW solar PV plant in South Africa’s Free State province. The plant is developed in partnership with JUWI and Subsolar. JUWI was appointed to design and manage the procurement, construction, and commissioning. The plant will be operational by late 2026 and will generate over 354,000 MWh annually. It aims to power cloud and AI applications using its own sustainable energy source. Teraco secured grid capacity from Eskom and finalized wheeling agreements with local municipalities. The project will supply renewable energy to its data centres in Ekurhuleni and Cape Town.
