France-based Technique Solaire, an independent renewable energy producer, has signed a 20-year PPA with Air France. This agreement, covering over 13 GWh/year, will enable Air France to source solar energy at a stable and competitive price. The electricity production under this PPA will come from two ground-mounted solar farms. The first farm, located in Saint Priest Taurion with a capacity of 5 MWp, will commence in 2025. The second farm, with a capacity of 6 MWp, will be operational by 2026 in Pouillé. Together, these facilities will produce 13 GWh/year, representing approximately 10% of Air France’s total annual building consumption. This contract is the first PPA signed by Technique Solaire in France, following a 2021 agreement with the Goa Institute of Management in India. The company claims this agreement will accelerate its goal of achieving 4 GWp by 2030.
