Somaliland invites bids for hybrid solar plants for schools

The Somali Electricity Sector Recovery Project (SESRP) has invited bids for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of hybrid/off-grid PV plants with BESS. The project covers 28 education facilities in Somaliland’s Maroodi-jeeh and Awdal regions and is funded by the World Bank. The contract has an 8-month duration from the effective date and includes 2 years of Operations and Maintenance services, with possible extensions based on budget availability. A pre-bid conference has been scheduled for February 23, 2025, with submissions due by March 12, 2025. The scope also includes maintenance of substations, medium voltage networks, transmission lines, and spare parts management. Bidders must adhere to International Competitive Bidding procedures under updated World Bank Procurement Regulations, with all submissions requiring a Bid-Securing Declaration.
