Germany-based RWE Renewables Europe & Australia GmbH was successful in the German Federal Network Agency solar tender with two projects in North Rhine Westphalia. The company has planned a 17 MW Manheimer Bucht solar farm in the Rhein Erft district and a 20 MW expansion at the A44n motorway site. Together, these projects were expected to power 11,300 households. The Construction was planned for early 2026 and with completion by the end of the year. The Manheimer Bucht site was designed with 26,500 modules across 14.5 hectares. Along the A44n motorway, solar plants under construction had 86.5 MW capacity, with an additional 19.9 MW planned next year. RWE has operated seven solar farms in the Rhenish region, four with battery storage, and further projects were in planning.
