The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) of Jordan has recently invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) for a 200 MW solar project under a Build-Own-Operate model. The project will be awarded through a direct proposal process, with EOIs due by July 15, 2025, and selection based on the lowest proposed tariff. Bidders must demonstrate experience with utility-scale PV projects, including one of at least 20 MW and another of 10 MW, and with 66kV or higher grid connections. Applicants must secure land, complete feasibility studies, and prepare grid integration plans. Financial capability must be proven through audited statements and BOO project history. The initiative supports Jordan’s strategy to increase renewable energy share and reduce reliance on conventional sources. The selected developer will sign a 20 to 25-year PPA with the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), the state-owned transmission operator.
