IDBZ, the development bank of Zimbabwe, and the Gutu Rural District Council (GRDC) are selecting a contractor for a 5 MW solar project in Masvingo, Zimbabwe. The project, led by Chatsworth Energy, will be built near Gutu-Mupandawana 15 hectares. It will connect to the Gutu substation via a 1.1 km, 33 kV line. All approvals, feasibility and ESIA studies have been completed. The selected contractor must handle design, finance, installation, and maintenance. Bidders need experience with similar grid-tied projects and PRAZ registration. The proposals are due by April 28, 2025. Zimbabwe had 41 MW of installed PV capacity by the end of 2023, as per IRENA.
