SolarPanelRecycling.com (SPR) introduced the first dedicated bifacial solar panel recycling line in the country, achieving a recovery rate of 99% or higher. Bifacial panels, which are becoming the industry standard, are expected to make up over 70% of the market by 2033. SPR developed this new process to improve glass recovery and reduce manual labor inefficiencies in traditional recycling. The company has seen more bifacial panels entering recycling due to damage during transport, installation, or extreme weather. Unlike shredding methods that mix materials into waste, SPR’s process separates all components for reuse. This advancement increased efficiency, reduced waste, and helped create a circular economy as more solar projects underwent upgrades and replacements.
