Singapore based Zelestra has been awarded a Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) contract by SJVN ( Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam), to develop a 500 MW hybrid project in Solapur, Maharashtra. The project includes 250 MW DC of solar, 180 MW of wind, and a 90 MW battery energy storage system, with commissioning planned for 2027. It is designed to supply electricity throughout the day, including peak hours. Zelestra will be responsible for the project’s development, construction, ownership, and operation. Once commissioned, it is expected to generate over 815 GW of clean energy annually, meeting the needs of over 225,000 households and cutting carbon emissions by about 0.7 million tonnes each year. Construction is scheduled to begin later in 2025.
