The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has approved two large renewable energy projects in Sector 8 near the upcoming Noida International Airport, positioning the area as a solar manufacturing hub. On Friday, Yeida issued a Letter of Intent for 25 acres to Integrated Batteries India (IB Solar), which plans to invest INR 3,000 crore(~ $ 361 million) in a 4 GW solar cell and module unit. The proposal, routed through Invest UP, remains subject to state policy and regulatory approvals. In July, SAEL Solar P6 Private Limited received clearance to establish an integrated 5 GW solar cell and 5 GW module facility on 200 acres, with an estimated cost of INR 8,200 crore (~ $988 million). Together, the projects represent more than INR 11,000(~ $1.33 billion) crore investment, creating jobs and expanding India’s domestic solar capacity.
