India-based Vikram Solar has shifted its expansion focus to Tamil Nadu. New integrated solar cell and module facilities are planned at Vallam and Gangaikondan, supported by INR 900 crore (~ $ 99 million) in state subsidies. Vikram Solar aims to reach 17.5 GW of module and 12 GW of cell capacity by FY27, with the first phase involving 6 GW modules and 3 GW cells. Its West Bengal unit at Falta SEZ will see a limited addition of 2 GW module capacity with an investment of INR 400 crore (~ $ 44 million). Funding is received from a mix of IPO proceeds, including an INR 2,079.4 crore (~ $ 229 million) issue oversubscribed 4.4 times, INR 1,700 crore ($ 187 million) debt from IREDA, and central PLI incentives of INR 528 crore (~ $ 58 million). VikramSolar has recently supplied 250 MW modules for Bondada Project in Maharastra.
