GIZ, a Germany-headquartered international development agency working in renewable energy and agriculture, has partnered with Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE) to launch the country’s first agricultural solar project in Hà Nội. The Agri-PV initiative, which is scheduled to run from 2025 to 2027, has set a target of deploying at least 10 pilot models that integrate farming with solar energy generation. According to MAE, the project is designed to improve rural incomes, enhance land efficiency, and support Vietnam’s energy transition while advancing net zero 2050 and NDC 3.0 goals.GIZ(Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH)Vietnam officials added that international experiences from countries such as Germany, Thailand, India, and Brazil will be shared to address policy gaps and strengthen implementation capacity.
