Vesper Energy activates 600 MW Hornet Solar in Texas

The 600 MW AC Hornet Solar project by Vesper Energy in Swisher County, has been commissioned recently, adding over 1.36 million panels and $100 million in tax benefits.

Vesper Energy, a utility-scale solar and storage developer headquartered in Texas, has commissioned the 600 MW AC Hornet Solar project in Swisher County. According to Vesper Energy, the project spans over six square miles and includes more than 1.36 million solar modules. Construction began in Fall 2023 and the company secured $590 million in financing by January 2024. The one-millionth panel was installed in December 2024, and the final module was completed in January 2025. The facility is expected to generate over $100 million in tax revenue, including $61 million for Tulia schools, $25 million for the County, and $12 million for Swisher Memorial Hospital District. Over 300 jobs were created during the construction phase.
