Netherland-based VEON Ltd., a global digital operator, has announced an agreement between Jazz and Huawei to deploy solar power at 1,000 sites across Pakistan. The project, using Huawei’s iSolar technology, aimed to reduce energy costs by up to 96% and support Jazz’s transition to a greener telecom network. The deployment was set for completion in the coming months. VEON Ltd. is the parent company of Jazz. Jazz aimed to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. The project was expected to serve as a scalable model for future expansion. VEON and Huawei planned to continue developing technologies to integrate sustainability into VEON’s digital operations in 2025.
