Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), headquartered in Lucknow has announced solar projects totaling more than 9 GW. These include 6 GW of ground-mounted capacity and 3.410 GW to be developed through solar parks. According to Uttar Pradesh additional chief secretary of energy and alternative energy sources, Narendra Bhushan, UPNEDA has entered into three joint ventures with Tusco Ltd, Bundelkhand Solar Energy Ltd, and Lucknow Solar Power Development Corporation Ltd for establishing the solar parks. The projects form part of the state’s Solar Energy 2022 programme, which is structured to create 22 GW of overall solar capacity through phased development across different regions of Uttar Pradesh.
