The Iraqi Council of Ministers has approved two solar energy projects as part of its energy sector plans. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Electricity and UGT Renewables for a new integrated solar project, with the Ministries of Planning and Finance assigned to coordinate funding and alignment with national plans. The Council also approved the pricing structure and contract terms for the 1 GW Artawi Solar Power Plant with TotalEnergies. The Ministry of Oil was directed to meet its payment obligations under the related power purchase agreement, and the State Company for Southern Electricity Production was authorized to finalize the contract
