TurningPoint Energy and Pivot Energy have energized a 2.9 MWdc community solar farm in Clarksville, Howard County, Maryland, marking the first project in their six-site, 16.6 MWdc portfolio. Completed in September 2025, the array of nearly 5,500 modules will generate about 4.25 million kWh annually, powering up to 370 homes. Developed under Maryland’s Community Solar Energy Generating System Pilot Program, the project is fully subscribed by 11 participants, including local organizations, and will provide an average 10% bill savings to Baltimore Gas & Electric customers. In addition to renewable generation, the project includes land uses such as sheep grazing and pollinator planting, while $120,000 in community donations will support nonprofits, schools, and household energy assistance across Howard County.
