Emerge, which is a UAE-based joint venture formed by Masdar and France’s EDF Group, has signed a 20-year agreement with Turbotim, a UAE-based energy solutions company, at the Make it in the Emirates Forum. The agreement covers the installation of two rooftop hybrid systems with a total of 1.52 MW of solar PV and 5 MWh of battery energy storage at Turbotim’s Ras Al Khaimah facilities. The systems are intended to replace diesel generators, lower emissions, and deliver long-term energy cost savings. Emerge has confirmed it is responsible for financing, designing, procuring, constructing, operating, and maintaining the system. The installations are expected to cut over 2,178 tons of carbon annually. Emerge was launched in 2021 to provide distributed solar and hybrid energy solutions across the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
