Tripura, located in India’s Northeast, aims to generate 150 MW of solar power by March 2027 under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. So far, 13,536 households have registered for the scheme and 266 families currently receiving solar power. Additionally, 70 households have begun earning income by selling surplus electricity to the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd (TSECL). To further promote green energy, the government will equip all state offices with solar systems. Tripura also continues to export 50–60 MW of electricity to Bangladesh under an existing agreement.
