TotalEnergies ENEOS has recently installed a 1 MW solar rooftop system at Imerys’ calcium carbonate facility in Ipoh, Malaysia. The project is made of 1,800 solar modules and is expected to generate 1,400 MWh annually and reduce CO₂ emissions by 790 tons per year. The project was developed under a 25-year PPA, with TotalEnergies ENEOS funding, installing, and maintaining the system, while Imerys will purchase the electricity produced. According to the France-based specialty minerals producer, the project is part of a broader energy transition strategy, with additional solar installations planned across its Asia-Pacific sites.
