Telangana Deputy Chief Minister M. Bhatti Vikramarka has directed District Collectors to install solar power plants on all government buildings across the state. The initiative will cover gram panchayat offices, the Secretariat, Integrated Collectorate complexes, schools, junior colleges, degree colleges, and higher education institutions. At a review meeting held with Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar and attended by District Collectors, Vikramarka instructed that plans for all Integrated Collectorate complexes be sent to the Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd. The directive also called on officials to take a proactive role in implementing the Indira Solar Girijana Vikasam scheme on Recognition of Forest Rights lands. The program is intended to use available public buildings for solar deployment. Installations are planned to be extended across administrative and educational facilities as part of a coordinated state-level renewable energy expansion.
