Tata Power Renewables, a subsidiary of Tata Power, launched its ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign in Pune in August 2025, introducing a special scheme called ‘Own a Rooftop Solar System’ ahead of Independence Day. The initiative, aligned with the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, aims to expand residential rooftop solar adoption nationwide with a target of six lakh installations by year-end. In Maharashtra, where Tata Power Solaroof has already achieved 775 MW rooftop capacity across 27,910 customers, the company plans to add 800 MW over the next three years, including 250 MW in Pune where 200 MW is already operational. The new scheme offers customers entry at INR 1,947(~ $23.36 USD), flexible EMIs, financing options up to 60 months, and one-year complimentary solar insurance. Tata Power has also applied to the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission for a distribution licence in Pune and adjoining areas, with the application currently under review.
