India-based Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has signed a power purchase agreement with NTPC Ltd to develop a 200 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project in India. The project, using solar, wind, and battery storage systems, is expected to be completed in 24 months. It is projected to generate around 1,300 million kWh of clean energy annually and provide 90% availability during a 4-hour peak demand window. With this addition, TPREL’s total renewable utility capacity reached 10.9 GW, including 5.5 GW operational and 5.4 GW under development, evenly divided between solar and wind sources.
