India’s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) signed an MoU with Rajasthan’s Discoms—Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, and Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited—to promote renewable energy and energy conservation in Rajasthan. The agreement focused on accelerating rooftop solar adoption under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijali Yojana (PMSG:MBY) for residential customers. Joint awareness campaigns were planned for cities like Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, and Bikaner. A future statewide expansion was included. The MoU included exclusive pricing and vendor training. This aims to ensure efficient solar installations. The collaboration combined TPREL’s resources with Rajasthan Discoms’ reach. The goal was to increase solar adaptation. Additionally, Tata Power operated a 14,707 MW portfolio across renewable and conventional energy. This included transmission, distribution, storage, and solar manufacturing. The company aimed for carbon neutrality by 2045. It also provided EV charging and microgrids.
