Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) has announced that rooftop solar installations across North Delhi have crossed 5,500 connections, with the total sanctioned load exceeding 100 MW. Domestic users account for the largest share in numbers, with 3,995 systems, while the Commercial and Industrial (C\&I) segment, with 1,497 systems, has contributed the highest energised capacity at 60.969 MW. In comparison, domestic systems generated 34.929 MW and other categories 12.565 MW. Additionally, 13 residential societies within Tata Power-DDL’s operational areas installed rooftop systems amounting to 0.377 MW, mostly in the 2 kW to 3 kW range. The initiative enhances the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and Delhi Solar Policy by reducing electricity bills and expanding clean energy use. Officials stated that each kilowatt of rooftop solar generates 100–120 units monthly, enabling cost recovery in three to four years.Recently, Tata Power Renewables commissioned 752 MW solar projects in India.
