Indian renewable energy developer Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has lately signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The deal aims to develop 7 GW portfolio of solar, wind, and hybrid projects. The agreement signed in Amaravati, involves an estimated investment of INR 49,000 crore (~$5.39 billion) and supports the state's Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy. This policy aims to reach 160 GW of renewable capacity, attract INR 10 lakh crore (~$110 billion) in investments, and generate 7.5 lakh jobs. As per the MoU, TPREL will conduct feasibility studies and development activities for the projects, while the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) will oversee site identification and evacuation infrastructure.
