Summit Ridge Energy (SRE), headquartered in Virginia, has partnered with Illinois-based OSF HealthCare, a not-for-profit healthcare network with over 180 facilities, on a 20-year agreement. OSF HealthCare will subscribe to 14 community solar projects across Illinois, owned and operated by SRE, with a total distributed capacity of 24 MW. The projects have been projected to provide $450,000 in annual energy savings starting in late 2025, totaling $9 million over two decades. The solar farms, remotely sited, will offset OSF HealthCare’s greenhouse gas emissions and supply clean energy to grids managed by Ameren and ComEd. Construction has supported hundreds of jobs and utilized components manufactured in Georgia, Florida, and Wisconsin. This partnership aligns with advancing grid resilience, energy independence, while integrating renewable energy into healthcare operations.
