Standard Solar, based in Rockville, Maryland, has completed the 13.7 MW Costen Solar Farm to serve a leading Maryland healthcare system under a 20-year power purchase agreement. The project, now operational, is designed to generate about 19,700 MWh of electricity in its first year, supplying power to one of the state’s largest healthcare providers. Developed and owned by Standard Solar, the project was structured with no upfront or development costs for the healthcare system. The initiative addresses high electricity demand from hospitals, which operate continuously and are among the most energy-intensive institutions. Integration into PJM was supported by collaboration with Choptank Electric Cooperative. This project expands Standard Solar’s commercial PPA portfolio while supporting institutional adoption of large-scale clean energy in Maryland.
