SolMicroGrid, a US-based provider of distributed energy solutions, has launched the Array to Microgrid program for commercial and industrial property owners. The program allows businesses to sell existing solar arrays for cash and transition to fully managed microgrid systems. According to SolMicroGrid, the systems are delivered under an Energy-as-a-Service model that eliminates capital expenditure, shifts maintenance responsibility, and ensures stable energy costs. Each microgrid is designed to include solar PV, battery storage, backup generation, and advanced energy management controls tailored to the facility. SolMicroGrid has already implemented this model at several commercial locations where it has enhanced operational effectiveness, energy expense reduction, and system reliability. The project is designed to assist businesses in lessening reliance on the utility grid and sustaining uninterrupted activities amidst increasing energy expenses and growing grid instability.
