SolarBank, a Canada-based solar developer, is advancing plans for a 4.3 MW DC community solar project in upstate New York. The site lease is secured, and an interconnection study is in progress to determine feasibility before permitting and financing proceed. The project is expected to qualify for NYSERDA’s NY-Sun incentives, supporting its financial viability. Once operational, the facility will supply power to the local grid, allowing homeowners and renters to subscribe and earn bill credits. Solar Simplified is managing customer enrollment to ensure full subscription and revenue optimization. SolarBank stated that the partnership supports project scalability while it focuses on development. Key risks include interconnection approval, permitting, financing, and securing a community solar contract.
