SolarBank Corporation, headquartered in Canada, has announced plans to develop a 7.2 MW DC ground-mount solar project in upstate New York. The project is called the Glor Rd Project, has a secured site lease and is undergoing an interconnection study. Once complete, the project is expected to power around 850 homes. It qualifies for compensation under New York’s VDER mechanism, with a projected year-one rate of $0.0971 per kWh. The project is also eligible for a one-time NY-Sun incentive of up to $0.245/W DC from NYSERDA. Solar Simplified will manage customer-facing activities under the community solar model. The project’s progress depends on interconnection results, permitting, financing, and other regulatory factors.
