Canada-based SolarBank Corporation and Viridi partnered to develop a solar and battery storage project in Buffalo, New York. The project includes a 3.06 MW (DC) ground-mount solar system and a 1.2 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). It is being built on a closed landfill to produce renewable energy. SolarBank plans to own the project, depending on financing approval. Viridi provides battery packs with fire suppression and anti-propagation technology. The company has secured a site lease. An interconnection application has been submitted. Construction will begin after securing the necessary permits and financing. The project will supply energy to the grid. Residents will benefit from it. Risks include approval delays, financing challenges, and policy changes. These risks are mentioned in forward-looking statements.
