SolarBank, headquarted in Canada, has announced the development of a 4.584 MW DC ground-mount solar project in Foresthill, upstate New York, as part of its growing community solar pipeline. The project has secured a site lease and is undergoing an interconnection study. It is expected to qualify for NYSERDA’s NY-Sun Program with one-time incentives of up to $0.345/W DC and participate in the VDER compensation mechanism, with year-one rates projected at $0.0971/kWh. Once operational, it will deliver clean energy to the grid and enable bill savings for local subscribers without requiring rooftop installations. Solar Simplified will manage subscriber acquisition, enrollment, and billing, supporting full utilization from the outset. Pending successful permitting and financing, the project will contribute to SolarBank’s 1 GW+ development pipeline.
