SolarBank Corporation shared an update on its 2.9 MW DC Silver Springs solar project in Gainesville, New York. The project passed the Coordinated Electric System Interconnection Review (CESIR), allowing the company to begin the permitting process. It is expected to qualify for incentives under the NYSERDA NY-Sun Program. After securing permits and financing, construction will start. The project will be a community solar initiative, providing solar energy access to renters and homeowners without requiring panel installation. The generated electricity will go to the local power grid, and subscribers will receive bill credits based on their share of the energy produced.
