SOLV Energy, a San Diego–based solar EPC firm, has been appointed by Washington, D.C.–based Sol Systems to build a 209 MW DC solar plant in Uvalde, Texas. The installation includes a high-voltage substation and is expected to begin commercial operations in 2026. According to SOLV Energy, the facility will generate enough electricity to power approximately 57,935 homes annually while creating around 300 construction jobs. The partnership has marked the second collaboration between both firms following the 342 MW DC Eldorado project in Illinois. Sol Systems has stated that the Uvalde project is part of its ongoing expansion of utility-scale solar assets to enhance regional grid reliability.
